Ann Chen - Artist 

My passion for art began in my childhood. I have been drawing since I can remember. Growing up in Taiwan, I loved asking my mom to give me a piece of paper so I could draw. I enjoyed drawing people, houses, and the sky. Most of the time, I watched TV because I wanted to draw my favorite character. My elementary school teacher even told my mom I was talented at art, so I always believed I would grow up to be an artist.

During my four years of university life in Taiwan, I found painting animal is what I want to do. I did a bunch of animal portraits, and I also took a case of painting pets. In my graduation project, I made a series of animal paintings. It was about those animals staying in jail that the human-built called a zoo. In the zoo, animals are like clowns being laughed at. My style of the project is realistic.
